Super yummy Breakfast Cake. I made this for New Years Day Breakfast and decided that you all need to make it. Seriously you need to make it. Here is the recipe: Mix together 2 1/2 Cups flour and 3/4 Cup Sugar and 3/4 Cup butter. Cut the butter into the flour and sugar until crumbly and then take 1 cup of this mixture out and set aside for topping. Add 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix together 3/4 cup sour cream and 1 egg and 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract. Add this sour cream mixture to the flour mixture and combine. Press this mixture in the bottom of a 9" springform pan or a 9" cake pan. Filling: 1 8 oz package of cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 egg. Spread the filling over the cake mix: sprinkle with remaining flour mixture and slivered almonds. Drizzle raspberry jam over the top of that and spread around the top with a spatula. Sprinkle a few more slivered almonds over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes. I hope you enjoy it. .
